Which Party Do Voters Want In Congress?
Tracking the latest polling of the 2026 midterms
What’s new
The Iran war has so far had minimal effects on the generic ballot (or Trump’s approval), though the GOP might be experiencing a boost. YouGov’s latest poll put Democrats’ lead at 2%, their smallest since last September.
Some pollsters corroborate this movement: CC Labs (D+9 to 3), TIPP (D+3 to +2), Marist (D+14 to 9), and Noble Predictive Insights (D+2 to 1). Even so, the average has barely moved (from about D+5.6 to 5.2) due to other firms holding stable, or even showing Democratic gains: Morning Consult (D+4 to 8) and McLaughlin (D+2 to 4).
We’ve also been getting more registered voter polls, which are adjusted towards likely voters (generally more favorable for Democrats).
